You may be one of those people much like everyone else out there who has gotten a Legendary Engram; annoyed by getting greens out of it. Within the past week or so, the problem has only gotten larger, and to the point that players have taken to social media, but also the forums to report on it. The frustration is real and so is the grind for gear to get past it. Fortunately, it seems Bungie has decided to respond in order to try and fix this have decided to finally fix things with the upcoming patch 1.0.2, which will go live next week.

With Cayde-6 (pun is fully intended) having taken Cryptarch to the side, we can only imagine that he got his head beat in, and has decided to return and play nice with all of you angry gear farmers out there. Now that he’s recovered with a few bruises and scrapes, we have learned that Legendary Engrams will now produce Legendary or better quality of items, this includes materials or exotics. So what does this mean? You got it, get ready to scream and be frustrated when you get materials, which is better than getting that useless green that will just get tossed to the side with your old gym socks. We’ve also learned that while you are getting the Cryptarch to do his job correctly, Rare Engrams will now also produce Rare or Quality items, while also having an increased chance at producing Legendary quality items. So what does this mean? Get your boxing gloves ready and prepare to join Cayde-6 when you need to.

On a lighter note, there has been a note of some changes coming up regarding Daily Heroics, Weekly Heroics, and Vanguard activities. What does this mean? Tiger Playlist activities will now include Rare and Legendary Engrams on top of their previously existing rewards. So prepare to maybe gear up a tad faster if the RNG doesn’t steal your lunch money.

With that out of the way, there are also a bit more changes coming around; item changes that is. Ascendant materials will be getting promoted to Legendary to closer associate them with the gear they upgrade. What does this mean? Get ready to scream at those too if you need them more than ever. Also, those of you holding onto your Legendary Engrams for this update? Don’t hold your breath; they’re going to turn into blues, and Bungie has a nice little pun regarding this for you. They said it better than we can.

“Legendary Engram items that exist in your inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so decode them while you can. But let’s be honest–even if you don’t, we all know they were blues already…”
