After finding their stride with Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide and Vermintide 2, Fatshark is preparing to go from dark fantasy to the dark and obscenely grim universe of the 41st Millenium with Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Just like their previous two titles, Fateshark is aiming to take players into co-op driven action and using every tool int heir book to ensure their title is accurate to the universe it’s coming from as possible.
To help bring their first-person title to life, Fatshark has recruited one of the most well acquinted writers in the industry: Dan Abnett. Abnett is well known for his works within the Warhammer universe, having written best-selling novels and even having more than twenty years experience with Warhammer 40,000 alone.
“Dan Abnett has over two decades of experience working with Warhammer 40,000, and we are thrilled to collaborate with him and give players the game they deserve.” says Martin Wahlund, CEO and Co-Founder Fatshark
The game, no doubt, will take players into an experience unlike any we’ve seen before. The Warhammer 40,000 universe is massive, allowing for multiple experiences to unwind, and to allow fans to experience, which is one of the goals of Abnett and Fatshark.
“Working with Fatshark has been fantastic,” says Dan Abnett. “It’s great to partner with them and see their amazing skills create the universe of Warhammer 40K in vivid, realistic, and interactive ways. Things I’ve only imagined before, or created in prose, are exploding into life.”
Currently, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is in development for PC and Xbox Series X|S for a Fall 2021 release date. The game is currently a limited-time exclusive for Xbox platforms and is expected to launch on PlayStation 5 in the future.
