If you are planning on getting Cyberpunk 2077 on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One, install sizes are expected to exceed 100GB at launch, which will only get bigger with post-launch patching. So dust off those external hard drives folks.
There was no doubt in our minds that CD Projekt Red’s largest and most ambitious title yet would also be their biggest ones yet. The game, originally discussed by DreamcastGuy already pinned the game with a 43.5GB update over on his Twitter account as we originally pointed out over the weekend. Unfortunately, it seems that the games size is only getting bigger with each and every update.
Now, Redditor potatofellati0 has all, but confirmed the game’s console launch size, which totals in at 102.9GB after the latest pre-load update, which brings the game to version 101, and addresses several bugs, stability fixes, and of course, addresses a few performance issues that cropped up before the game’s release.
At this time, it is unclear if this is the Day One patch or if there will be another landing shortly after the game becomes available during its global launch. If you do decide to get the game digitally, it’s probably time to start getting that download going on your Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5.
