Cyberpunk 2077 pre-loads now available on Xbox consoles

Those looking to grab the digital copy of Cyberpunk 2077 will find that the game is now ready for preload on Xbox consoles, which includes a potential 43.5GB update.

If you are one of the many waiting to get your hands on Cyberpunk 2077, you might find yourself cringing a bit, and that’s because we are already expecting the game to ship with a 43.5 or more GB update. In a recent post on Twitter, renowned critic and game’s reporter, DreamcastGuy, revealed that the game already has a 43.5GB update, which to some, will chomp right through their bandwidth caps in a heartbeat.

In a follow-up post, it was confirmed by Fabian Mario Dohla, PR Manager for CD Projekt Red, that this isn’t actually the Day One update for the game. At least, the update we are expected to see when the game launches next week on December 7th, 2020, for PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One.

For now, it seems safe to assume that the update that was sent out is already targeting certain fixes in the current-gen release, and hasn’t been confirmed for PlayStation 4 or PC users as noticed above. DreamcastGuy has only revealed the current state of the Xbox One preload build of the game, but, it seems something else is coming our way from CD Projekt Red when Cyberpunk 2077 launches.

The company had already delayed the game a month in order to kink out a few gamebreaking bugs and polish the title a bit more than they had previously. As the game has been hotly anticipated since it was teased in 2012, fans have already begun to climb the walls as the release date nears, some even expecting a delay just days before the official Cyberpunk 2077 launch in order to launch on current-gen and new-gen consoles at the exact same time.

Whether the size of updates concerns you or not, CD Projekt Red has done an astonishing job giving fans an idea of what to expect with thier console comparison videos, which truly, should have us all even more excited for the game.
