Warhammer: Vermintide 2’s Winds of Magic expansion announced for consoles

Warhammer Vermintide 2’s Winds of Magic will be coming to consoles this December featuring new enemies, new maps, and new unlockables to enjoy.

Announced earlier today by Fatshark, the company revealed thatVerminitide 2 Winds of Magic will be headed to both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this December. While a release date hasn’t been revealed, the company has confirmed a solidified release date will be announced soon, giving fans a chance to dive into the Reikwald Forest and rush to the epicenter of a meteor strike.

As part of the new expansion, players will fight back against a new enemy race known as the Beastmen. The Beastmen have emerged, rushing for the meteor in order to claim it as their Herdstone. To stop this from happening, adventurers must brave the forests, smashing through the wilderness, and ultimately – putting an end to the threats that await them.

There are a few new features to prepare to enjoy which include a raised level cap from 30 to 35, new talents will be introduced as part of the expansion, alongside a brand-new progression system which includes Weave Forged versions of all weapon types in the game. Each hero will also get five new weapons including a shield and spear for Kerillian, a flaming flail for Sienna, new throwing axes for Bardin, a billhook for Saltzpyre, and a heavy spear for Kruber.

Alongside all of the aforementioned additions to Warhammer: Vermintide 2, you will also get to enjoy a new adventure level dubbed Dark Omens where players will fight the Beastmen alongside your friends in this brand new level. There will also be a new mode joining the mix called Winds of Magic. In this mode you will work with your friends, smashing through a new set of challenges in increasing difficulties as each one weaves in the Winds of Magic themselves:

  • Map: A chunk of an existing adventure map.
  • Wind: The different Winds of Magic will affect and modify the map.
  • Objective: Each map will have a specific objective for players to complete.
  • Finale: If the objective is completed the players will face the final challenge.
  • Difficulty: As players progress the difficulty will increase.
