In order to meet the quality and standards of those looking to play DOOM Eternal, id Software has confirmed that DOOM Eternal has been delayed until March of 2020. Here’s the lowdown.
As of late, it’s not uncommon for developers to announce a delay on one of their upcoming titles. We’ve seen it happen numerous times this generation. Some for better, some for worse. However, one we didn’t expect to see, was DOOM Eternal, which was slated to release on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on Nov. 22nd, 2019, but will now instead launch on March 20th, 2020. All pre-orders will also receive a copy of DOOM 64 free of charge as an apology for the delay.
id Software took to social media earlier today to confirm the delay, in the letter, the studio revealed as part of the delay, they wanted more time to polish their game, work out any bugs it has, and ensure the experience fans have been waiting for. You can read the official letter down below.
