Fans have come together in hopes that – together – they can bring back the original cast of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children to life as a DLC in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Now, the two-month-old petition is sitting at over 1,900 signatures as of today.

Earlier today, we were informed by voice actor Crispin Freeman that he won’t be making his return as Rude in Square Enix’s remake of Final Fantasy VII. However, there’s a small group of fans that aren’t done rallying in support of actors such as Greg Ellis as Cait Sith, Christy Carlson Romano, Crispin Freeman, or even Steve Burton, to reprise their roles.

The petition was brought to life in a response to my personal Twitter account where former Rude (Reno’s long-time pal in crime and a member of the Turks) voice actor Crispin Freeman informed us he would not be reprising his role as Reno in the upcoming title Final Fantasy VII Remake.

However, fans aren’t having it. To show they aren’t, one fan informed us about a currently ongoing petition that is sitting at 1,921 out of 2,500 signatures at the time of writing. The petition, as seen on Change.org, would see that original voice cast members from the compilation of Final Fantasy VII for the Final Fantasy VII Remake reprise their roles as optional DLC for fans to enjoy.

As seen in the petition, fans are ready for the title, but with one minor change: They want an option to enjoy Final Fantasy VII Remake the way they remember it. This would see Steve Burton reprise his role as Cloud Strife, George Newbern as Sephiroth, Beau Billingslea as Barret Wallace, Rachael Leigh Cook as Tifa Lockhart, Andrea Bowen as Aerith Gainsborough, Quinton Flynn as Reno, Steve Blum as Vincent Valentine, and Crispin Freeman as Rude with a guest appearance of Rick Gomez as Zack Fair.

The petition would also like to see many other characters voiced by their original actors, giving the series a sense of depth to its remade continuity that will re-establish Final Fantasy VII in ways we’d never imagined before.

If you want to sign the petition, you can head on over and sign the petition named “Release Additional DLC with the Voice Actors from the Compilation of FFVII for the FFVII-R” today. Final Fantasy VII Remake is set to release exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on March 3rd, 2020. You can pre-order the Deluxe Edition today via the Square Enix Store.

Do you plan on signing the petition? Let us know in the comments.
