During Tokyo Game Show (TGS), Capcom fully unveiled a brand-new look at their upcoming survival horror title that will be using an asymmetric online five-person multiplayer experience. The game will be combining elements of both cooperative and competitive dynamics in order to enhance the overall experience, allowing four players to show off against an insidious Mastermind who will do their best in order to eliminate the four survivals that opposes them.

Alongside the multiplayer elements of the game, Capcom has revealed the dynamics of how the Mastermind will play as well as each of the player classes including the tank, healer, damage, and support roles that will see players hack, punch, and smash their way through endless hordes of infected. Alongside the gameplay itself, Capcom has revealed that they are working in partnership with NeoBards Entertainment, utilizing the RE Engine, which has been seen in recent years in some of the engines such as Resident Evil 2 and Devil May Cry V.

In Resident Evil: Project Resistance, players will face-off in 4v1 matches where the mastermind will work against players using a series of networked together security cameras, working against survivors in a one-step ahead of the survivors. The mastermind will use a strategic deck of cards in order to create dangerous obstacles including well-placed Lickers, zombies, and even Tyrants such as Mister X.

Currently, Resident Evil: Project Resistance is in development for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Capcom has also revealed an upcoming beta for RE Ambassadors and those that seek to partake in the beta can also register for the beta with registrations opening up from September 11th, 2019, through September 18th, 2019, via the official Project Resistance website.
