As SEGA and Ryu ga Gotoku Studio, the team that brought you the Yakuza series, has released a full-blown combat trailer showing off the fight and the English cast. So let’s talk about the trailer and take a peek at the upcoming title.

For years, the Yakuza series has continued to exceed all expectations, including brand new stories, an emotional rollercoaster of a ride, and even some of the tightest combat controls in the martial arts genre. Now, we’re preparing for a brand new adventure set in the familiar settings we’d seen in Yakuza, which will see players take on the role of Yagami, a private detective who works in one of Japan’s rowdiest streets in Kamurocho.

The newly released title The Detective: Judgement will see Yagami take on his fighting style, switching between both Tiger and Crane, allowing him to fight them off, rowdy groups or individuals alike. Let alone is he a rather seasoned brawler, he’s also a master of weaponry, using things as simple as chopsticks to take on his foes, or even a mighty bicycle to help them burn a few calories during a brawl.

Following suit from other members of the series, Yagami will also have a wide array of EX Action finishers at his disposal, making him one of the most dangerous former lawyers in all of Japan. Throughout your journies with him, Yagami will investigate the Red Light District of Kamurocho using techniques such as Crane and switching over to Tiger in order to take out enemies with both swift and fearsome strikes.

You can check out the full list of features from the upcoming title down below:

  • From the Makers of the Acclaimed Yakuza Series: Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios presents Judgment, the dramatic tale of a disgraced lawyer seeking redemption in a world rife with corruption and despair.

Practice mixing-and-matching styles in combat in conjunction with a wide variety of skills, weapons, and powerful (and hilarious) EX Actions to unlock a whole new dimension in combat.

The Detective: Judgement is set to release on June 25th exclusively for the PlayStation 4. SEGA has revealed that those who purchase physical editions of the game will receive a reversible cover featuring the original Japanese cover art along with a Ryu ga Gotoku Studio sticker.

Those who opt for a digital pre-order of the game will get a static theme featuring Yagami, the main protagonist of the game, as a bonus. Along with the theme, digital pre-orders will receive early access to the game on June 21st, 2019.
