Bandai Namco has officially revealed the latest Sword Art Online title under the name Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris, which is set to release on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox.

As Sword Art Online has only recently wrapped up its current story arch in Japan, Bandai Namco isn’t wasting any time in getting fans ready for the latest video game entry. Set to take place side-by-side with the events of the anime, under the same name, Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris is set to release on PC, PlayStation4, and Xbox One. Bandai has not revealed a release window or date for the upcoming title.

However, they have revealed a few details about the game. We will see Kirito, Eugeo, Alice, and Administrator return to the VRMMORPG series, bring in a chance to relive the “heart-pounding scenes from the series through intense combat.”

Luckily for SAO fans, Alicization Lycoris should bake a lot more sense as it’s pulling directly from the third season of the anime series. While the Lycoris part isn’t known to fans, it does seem that it might just be pulled from a genus of beautiful flowering plants native to Asia. Our only guess, it could be a metaphor for something much bigger just over the horizon.

Regardless, the new trailer, which you can see below, has us rather excited for the upcoming title.

“For the first time in a Sword Art Online videogame, players will be able to faithfully follow the events of the anime series,” publisher Bandai Namco said. “We look forward to players and fans experiencing the Alicization story arc as Kirito, uncovering the mysteries of Underworld, and making new friends along the way.”

Sword Art Online Alicization Lycoris will be available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Bandai Namco has not revealed a date for their upcoming title at this time.
