As fans of the 10-million copies sold Monster Hunter World continue on with their hunts, Capcom has announced the new expansion with new DLC and a new cross-over event with Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher franchise from CD Projekt Red. Here’s everything you need to know.
As the holiday season gets well underway, there’s plenty of joy still to be had as game companies begin to rev up their motors for 2019. Today, Capcom hasn’t held back from delivering one of the biggest surprises of the year in the shape of a brand new expansion set to launch in autumn of 2019 for Monster Hunter World on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a future announcement regarding the PC version at a later date.
The new expansion dubbed Monster Hunter World: Iceborne will feature an entirely new narrative experience, new gear, new moves, new locations, hunter ranks, and even hunts for fans to enjoy. Along with scarce information regarding the upcoming expansion, Capcom and CD PROJEKT RED have officially teamed up for a special collaboration coming in January 2019 called “The Appreciation Fest,” which will celebrate Monster Hunter World‘s first anniversary.
The upcoming event will have newly recorded dialogue from the voice actor for Geralt of Rivia as players prepare to take on a slew of new anniversary quests for everyone to enjoy along with the Gathering Hub itself being specially decorated for the event.
Along with the two previously mentioned announcements, Capcom has also confirmed the start of the Kulve Taroth Siege’s return starting tomorrow, Dec. 11, 2018, until Dec. 20, 2018. Hunters who decide to brave it can also take on a new special version of this hunt with a tougher, Arch Tempered version of Kulve Taroth.
