Sunlock Studios has announced Battlerite Royale for their critically acclaimed MOBA meets Arena Brawler Battlerite, which will be available free to all owners of the game when Battlerite Battle Royale becomes available.
As an added twist to the already genre, Sunlock Studios has announced their own unique take on the MOBA genre by blinding the elements of both Arena Brawling and MOBA into a singular genre with their own unique gameplay elements. The studio has confirmed that Battlerite Royale will include a map that is 30 times larger than the standard arena mode map players are used to seeing.
Additionally, the team has revealed that the new mode will see 20 players pitted against one another in combat on their specially designed “cutthroat island deathmatch”. Players looking to partake in Battlerite Royale will be able to queue in both solo and duo queues where they can see if their closest pal and themselves can face down 18 other players or survive on their own.
“With a top-down Battle Royale mode we’ve set out to bring the ultimate survival experience to Action RPG and MOBA players.” said Johan Ilves, Marketing Director at Stunlock Studios. “We want to give players the excitement of a Diablo-esque exploration experience combined with the character variation of a MOBA and the thrill of a survival game. That said, I think anyone who’s looking for a fresh and different take on the Battle Royale genre will have a blast.”
As part of Battlerite Royale, players will be playing out the mode in a top-down perspective using WASD controls as they fight their way to victory. In order to achieve victory, players will have to overcome their own player skill, map awareness, situational builds, and pray that lady luck is on their side. Over the course of their matches, players will be able to choose from 1 of 27 possible characters as they explore the map to find a variety of items, fight other players in order to obtain their loot, and hopefully be the last man or woman standing. In order to stand out from other Battle Royale titles, Battle Rite will see that players master each of the unique characters as their designated classes ranging from ranged to melee and from melee to support.
