CD PROJEKT RED is Having a Gwent Tournament at GamesCom 2017

Have you been playing Gwent, which is based off of the in-game Collectible Card Game built within The Witcher III? If you’ve been mastering your skills, building a highly competitive deck, and showing your opponents how skilled you are, there’s no doubt that you’ve probably come to perfect what you are wanting to do with it.

While decimating your enemies is no doubt a talent you’ve obtained, CD PROJEKT RED wants to see you at GamesCom 2017 to show off just what you are capable of. The event will take place over the course of two days starting on August 25th, with the final match debuting on August 26th to see who is the best at Gwent: The Witcher Card Game.

The tournament will take place at the Gwent booth in the Entertainment Area. This can be located at Hall 8, stand B021. Let alone will the studio be hosting the tournament, CD PROJEKT RED has also announced that they will be presenting some upcoming new content for the game.

So what’s at stake for the tournament? 8 players will be competing for a piece of the tournaments $25,000 prize pool. 7 of those players will be among the top to participate in the GamesCom tournament, which will be determined by their ranking starting on August 1st at 4PM CEST. The 8th player will be decided as the tournaments wildcard player for the Wild Card Qualifiers event held on August 24th, which will take place prior to the main event for the Gwent tournament.

The tournament will also serve as part of a larger eSports plan for Gwent, which will be fully unveiled at GamesCom 2017. Want to register? All you have to do is head to the official tournament page and fill out your registration to see if you can qualify to appear at GamesCom 2017.
