Since the games initial launch in 1997 on the PlayStation, Final Fantasy VII’s story, characters, and music caught the hearts of fans around the world. As of E3, Square Enix announced during the Sony’s press conference that Final Fantasy VII has begun production of a full blown remake of FINAL FANTASY® VII for the PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system. While it has been confirmed by leading development members from the original project such as producer Yoshinori Kitasi, director Tetsuya Nomura and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima all will be returning to to the project. One other thing we can think of? The masterpiece composed by Nobuo Uematsu will once more become a large part of the game itself.
Being regarded as one of the most renowned titles in the RPG genre, Final Fantasy VII has become a staple point into modern games due to its story, its characters, and even the beautifully animated movie sequences that set the par for any game at its time. With this being one of the most acclaimed titles by fans, critics, and up-and-coming gamers, Final Fantasy VII remakes a hall-mark title that is one to go to and experience, which backs the 11 million copies that have been sold across the world. This includes the games popularity among is spin-offs, films, and even its merchandise. We will keep you up to date as information gets released.
At this time there has been no further information regarding a release date or exclusivity.
Our Take:
Final Fantasy VII has been a game that has been a staple-point in my time as a gamer. Having spent hundreds, if not thousands of hours with it, the game has been a game I’ve come to absolutely love and enjoy. With characters such as Tifa Lockhart, Yufi Kisaragi, Cloud Strife, and the remaining cast having become characters I’ve enjoyed and loved over the past 18 years, the game has remained one that holds a soft spot for me and with this announcement; I can’t deny that my anticipation has gotten even higher thanks to the trolling we got last year about an HD remaster of the original PlayStation title.
