What do you do when a devastating pandemic has swept through the cities, killed your friends, your families, neighbors, co-workers, and those around you? You try to call for help, but what if one day every basic service has fallen. After that food, water, and society itself has collapsed. With all this rendered inaccessible, what happens? Welcome to Tom Clancy’s The Division, a game that has been in development for the past several years and has become known as one of the most anticipated online open world action RPG’s  in development by Ubisoft. As of E3, Ubisoft has announced that on March 8th, 2016, players will get to take part in the now activated autonomous unit of tactical agents by the name of “The Division” on platforms such as the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. For those who prefer to PC game? You’ll be seeing the same release date as the others.

With this announcement, Ubisoft has detailed a bit about the game that will allow fans to explore a world where the world is hostile, dynamic and will push players to progress through the desolate streets of New York. With players not being bound to a single class, fans will be able to choose a load out that fits their play style needs, but also to that of the mission they are on or even the team they decide to deploy with. When teaming up to take on the Big Apples mission area known as the Dark Zone, players will be able to take on missions from anywhere, anyone, and be attacked at any moment while trying to look for unique encounters and legendary loot. Thing that’s all? No. Players can take on the chance to take that loot at any given time in order to find their chance at survival to be more beneficial to themselves.

Our Take:

Tom Clancy’s The Division is a game that has easily become one of the most anticipated MMOs to hit current gen consoles and PCs. With this bit of information and a release date, Tom Clancy’s The Division will be a game that will no doubt set fans of tactical games, but also  the fact it will surely test Ubisoft’s capabilities of ensuring a stable and always online connection. Something Bungie had been put to work with in order to make Destiny the hit it is today with fans.
