Updated – David Murphy:
As of last night’s E3 conference, Bethesda and Arkane Studios have officially announced that Dishonored 2 is on its way. With this one we will not be seeing previous protagonist Corvo returning as our playable character. Instead we will be seeing a new protagonists whom has her name muttered in the trailer, but that’s something we will leave for you to discover. With this news we’ve also learned that Dishonored will be getting its definitive edition when it launches this fall. While the wait for Dishonored 2 sets us up for a Spring 2016 wait, we can only say this – that period can’t come soon enough. Dishonored 2 is set to launch on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox 1 next year.
Will you be there to sling across the streets and rooftops with new abilities, weapons, and an entirely new setting? We know we will. Wait for our upcoming review once the game releases a year from now.
Original – Dustin Murphy:
If you’re like myself you already have your tablet, phone, computer, and even your Smart TV hooked up and ready to go for E3. Why? Even those of us who report on E3 don’t always get a chance to make it to L.A.; this year is another one of those years for us at Blast Away the Game Review. On my way back from a wedding I had the stream going by just a chance to hope to see some of the rehearsal.
What happened there? A potential leak by both Raphael Colatonio who is known as the president of Arkane and Harvey Smith, the director for the original Dishonored. Question is: Have they once more teamed up and decided to continue on with their story arch we were left off with last time that featured both Corvo and Daud as our main two protagonists who took on extraordinary measures in order to right the wrongs they encountered.
In this potential leak that has taken the internet by storm, a hot microphone was live at the Bethesda E3 conference that was able to be posted live by our pals over at Kotaku were able to get a recording of it up. All we can say? If anything about Colantonio saying “Honoured” was enough tget our attention and bring us into a form of curiosity where we can only hope that a sequel to the title is to truly exist for those of us who did not get enough of the previous game.
Our curiosity was peaked even more when Polygon pointed out that a video clip of this audio was taken down on YouTube due to the copyright claim by Zenimax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks. Stay tuned as we look to know after Bethesda’s 10 p.m. EST press conference.
Our Take by David Murphy:
Unlike my son Dustin, I’ve been certain to show a certain kind of interest when it comes to games with such an art direction. With Dishonored 2 having fully been announced as of yesterday, it’s hard not to say that my fandom side is going absolutely nuts. With the sequel following much of the storytelling, art direction, and seemingly fulfilled gameplay mechanics; I’m excited and overjoyed that it has joined the ranks of the Bethesda’s on-going franchises such as DOOM, Fallout, and even Quake to name the ones I’m rather familiar with. We will see where this goes in the upcoming days since we already know that there will be a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One Definitive Edition coming this fall.
