The high-anticipated sequel for Gust Studios’ heart-felt JRPG series, BLUE REFLECTION, will be launching as BLUE REFLECTION: Second Light on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch just in time for the holiday season in November.
If you haven’t had a chance to try BLUE REFLECTION, you really should, it’s one of those JRPGs that somehow went right under the radar when Gust Studios and Koei Teco released it on PC and PlayStation 4. It delivered one of the most heartfelt and, at times, heartwrenching experiences to date.
Now, fans can dive back into the franchise on November 9th, 2021, as the newly announced sequel will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. PlayStation 5 owners, don’t fret, you’ll get to play it too thanks to the PS5’s backward compatibility feature.
In this long-awaited sequel, fans will get to follow three students in their heartfelt adventure. Those students include Ao Hoshizaki, Kokoro Utsobo, and Yuki Kinjou, who will find themselves transported to a mysterious floating academy. Once there, they find they are surrounded by lethal enemies, a large mystery, and why they can only remember their names.
They’ll unlock new powers as they battle the fiendish creatures they encounter, uncover the cryptic nature of their surroundings, and deepen their friendship as they struggle, but also, cooperate to make their everyday life as rich, fun, and lively as they possibly can. You’ll grow bonds to obtain new strengths, and abilities, but also, to grow their true feelings towards one another alongside the revealing of their true personalities that they have forgotten.
Just in Gust Studios fashion, you can expect to build your ideal academy throughout the game, craft items, and even unlock new recipes based on the bonds you have. Crafting special items can even trigger special conversations, deepening their friendship, and helping them solve the mystery that surrounds them.
To help bring the game to life, Koei Tecmo has revealed that Mel Kishida has returned as the franchises character designer and illustrator, helping bring detailed designs to the game, but also, the upcoming BLUE REFLECTION: Ray anime series.
Those looking to play the game and collect it can also pick up a limited-edition Blue Reflection: Second Light copy of the game that’ll be exclusive through the NISA Online Store. This Limited Edition version of the game contains an art book, deluxe cloth poster, two mini acrylic charms, a photo album, and an exclusive DLC costume all packaged into a beautiful collector’s box and will only be available while supplies last.
