
Piranha Games has officially revealed that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will be headed to GOG, Steam, and Xbox Series X|S consoles with cross-play later this month at a rather affordable price. Here’s the low-down.
If you’ve been wanting some hardcore mecha action, your wait is almost over, as developer Piranha Games has revealed that MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries will be launching on PC, Steam, GOG.com, and Xbox Series X|S on May 27th, 2021, for $29.99. The upcoming release will allow fans to jump in together and enjoy the first major update for the game, which includes over 30 new and enhanced features, but also, the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC Career Mode campaign.
Those who do snag up the game will be able to enjoy the special Kobold Hero Mech as an exclusive for Microsoft PC and Xbox platforms along with a custom load-out and paint job for the mech, alongside an all-new Goblin AI pilot who will come with its very own dialogue.
“The MechWarrior community feedback has been vital for the 30+ quality-of-life updates and new content at launch,” said Russ Bullock, President and Executive Producer at Piranha Games. “We’ve strived to meet fan expectations for what a MechWarrior experience is with this release – including a new co-op cross-platform experience, base game price drop, and DLC content with the ability to join a friend for free – and look forward to hearing from them on May 27.”
The upcoming title will have players take on the role of a BattleMech pilot who continues on their bravery and valor in the Heroes of the Inner Sphere DLC once you unlock it, allowing you to follow your career path from War Dog to Treasure Hunter, as you explore new warzones, take on new quests, and even enjoy new missions that will span the full breadth of what the Inner Sphere has to offer.
Pilots will even get to hunt the Heroes of the Inner Sphere with special quests that tell the story of those seven new years, their lost tech mechs, and even allowing players to obtain new mech chassis, variants, weapons, equipment, blue prints, and more as they complete their missions.

- Cross-platform play – Fight alongside your friends with four-player PvE co-op support on PC (Steam, GOG, Epic) and Xbox
- DLC sharing – Play co-op games with players that own the DLC to experience the content
