Ghost of Tsushima is coming to PlayStation 4 on June 26th, 2020, and will be launching with several launch-editions of the game, including a $169.99 USD Collector’s Edition.
In a surprise announcement, Sony has revealed that the long-awaited Ghost of Tsushima is finally heading our way in just a short few months, preparing PlayStation fans with one last hurrah before the official launch of the PlayStation 5.
Alongside the release date reveal of June 26th, 2020, Ghost of Tsushima has also received a brand-new trailer, giving us another look at the game’s main protagonist, Jin Sakai, who was only lightly teased when the game was first announced at Paris Games Week in 2017.
With more than three years under the development cycle belt, all the hard work from the studio behind the Infamous franchise is on its way, allowing fans to experience an all-new look at Japan in the year 1274. You get a brand-new look at Jin’s uncle, Shimura, the jito (lord) of Tsushima, and the very man who Jin sees as his father figure.
Alongside the reveal of Shimura, Sony has also treated PlayStation fans with a special look at Khotun Khan, the leader of the invading Mongol army. Before we take a look at the official launch editions, you can check out the brand-new trailer down below.
Now that the trailer is finally here, giving us a deeper look at the world of Ghost of Tsushima, Sony has also released news regarding upcoming launch editions of the game, which were outlined via the PlayStation blog earlier today. For those of you wanting a quick run-down, You can check out the official launch edition reveals down below alongside their price tags.
Please note, all details regarding the launch editions are in quotes as we pulled them from the official PlayStation blog.
Digital Deluxe Edition | $69.99 USD
“We also have two physical edition options. The first is our Special Edition, which includes a SteelBook case plus a voucher for an in-game Hero of Tsushima mask and sword skin*, Charm of Hachiman’s Favor, one technique point, the Director’s Commentary, and the digital mini art book.” – Andrew Goldfarb, Communications Manager, Sucker Punch Productions
Physical Special Edition | $69.99 USD
“But the set I am most excited to get my hands on is our Collector’s Edition, which has a replica mask. It’s a re-creation of one you’ll wear in the game, and it’s heavy (made from polyresin). It’s not meant to be worn, but it includes an individually-numbered display stand so you can keep it on a shelf to impress your friends or terrify your enemies. On top of that, there’s also a sashimono (war banner) just like you’ll see in the game that’s nearly 4.5 feet long, and a traditional-style furoshiki (wrapping cloth). You’ll also get a copy of the game with a SteelBook case, a physical 48-page mini art book by Dark Horse, and an artistic rendition of our full world map printed on cloth. Also included is a voucher for all of the digital content from the Digital Deluxe Edition listed above.” – Andrew Goldfarb, Communications Manager, Sucker Punch Productions
Collector’s Edition |$169.99 USD
All editions of the game are available for pre-order and are set to launch on June 26th, 2020, exclusively for PlayStation 4 consoles.
