Mortal Kombat 11: How to unlock Frost as a fighter

Mortal Kombat’s Frost makes her returning debut for the first time since Mortal Kombat: Armageddon. Now, she’s not a seemingly easy one to unlock and here’s what you need to know.

Since her debut in Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Frost has somehow gained traction as a fan-favorite character, which doesn’t come as a surprise to many. She’s one of the most powerful ice-wielding Lin Kuei since the death of Bi-Han (Sub-Zero). However, her return to Mortal Kombat has taken quite a while and for a rather good reason (we’re going to avoid the spoilers).

Now that she is back, there are a few things you need to know: First, you can unlock her, second, you don’t need to pay for her by any means necessary. You can simply obtain her through a few simple steps. While you can purchase her for $5.99 through Steam, PlayStation Store, or Microsoft Store, save those few dollars. You don’t need two.

First, Frost is locked through the campaign, you can unlock her by simply beating your way through various members of the Mortal Kombat 11 roster before completing Chapter Four, which is where she will unlock. Not bad if you don’t want to throw out $5.99 for a fully unlockable character versus a shortcut offering.

Unfortunately, the store listings are misleading, and they don’t give any indication whether or not she can be earned. Likewise, Shao Kahn was meant to be a pre-order exclusive, who can be purchased if you missed out on your chance to get him free of charge.

Mortal Kombat 11 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
