Astral Chain is the latest action game from PlatinumGames and will launch as a Nintendo Switch exclusive this August.

During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, Nintendo has proven that they are fully invested in their well-received hand-held turned console hybrid. As part of their ongoing initiative to bring third-party titles to their device, PlatinumGames revealed their latest title, Astral Chain, which is set to release on August 30, 2019, as a Nintendo Switch exclusive.

Set in a futuristic world, players will take on the role of a special forces unit that pairs up with a living weapon called ‘Legion’. The gameplay itself will center around this very partnership, having you pull off combos, explore, and assist one another in every scenario possible.

Astral Chain is the latest title from the mind of Takahisa Taura, the designer behind games like Nier AutomataMad World, and The Wonderful 101. To bring the game to life, he has teamed up with Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya. You can view the trailer down below.

Today’s Nintendo Direct included announcements for Daemon X Machina, Yoshi’s Crafted WorldTetris 99, and even Super Mario Maker 2.
