As of this week, Alus U.S.A., Inc. has announced that they are turning to the famed Devil Survivor with a remastering of the original title Devil Survivor 2. This time around the game is being re-developed exclusively for the Nintendo 3DS, and will be released as Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker. This new version will feature both the original games content, and the new Record Breaker content, which will nearly double the amount of game content for players to enjoy. In addition to this news, Atlus has also announced that fans who have not played Devil Survivor will not require previous entry history in order to know the story, which means no crucial plot information.
With the news from Atlus U.S.A., it has also been announced that the game will be released both physically at all major retailers and through the Nintendo eShop for the Nintendo 3DS at the price of 49.99 USD in early 2015. It has also been announced that the games new website can be visited in order to find out additional information regarding the game.
The game will feature combat very similar for those who have played any Shin Megami Tensei title as you will once more revisiting the classic turn-based RPG gameplay mechanics while working side by side with demons. Players will also get to choose their fate, which means Record Breaker does have consequences that players will atone for. Atlus has also stated the new Record Breaker content will expand the original story from Devil Survivor 2, which will add more than 100 hours in total between both campaigns that have been weaved into one. The game will also offer a chance for players to skip the original story and move to Record Breaker or play Devil Survivor 2 first in order to get a full scope of the games events. The game will also introduce a new character by the name of Miyako Hotsuin, which is mysterious due to her origin being deeply shrouded in mystery for anyone who encounters her.
Devil Summoner 2 will be getting a fully voiced over English story dialogue in both the new and the old content in order to keep the dramatic feeling, but also the ominous feeling of each character being a person. The game is also getting new and enhanced gameplay in order for characters to get new abilities as well as more demons to fuse.
Will you have what it will take to stop the End of Days?
