Epic Games Shouldn’t be Giving up on Paragon Just Yet

Last month the news broke that Epic Games would be shutting down their third-person action MOBA Paragon, which the company claimed didn’t meet their expectations nor did it attract the community they had hoped it would since its launch into closed alpha in 2016. While the game certainly saw a lot of struggle and changes made, it seemed that with the launch of their updates New Dawn and V.45, Paragon had finally begun to find a foothold within the MOBA genre as the first MOBA to let PC and console users can play together.

Somewhere, somehow, Paragon quickly became one of the most beloved MOBA’s by many a fan. Epic Games Prepares to Launch Paragon Early Access Monday

Paragon_SC01

MOBA’s as we all know have risen to popularity. A few years ago it was first person shooters galore, a few years before that it was RPG’s, and even a few years before that? It was a melting pot for indie games. Well that indie melting pot hasn’t ended, but what has ended is the fact that MOBA’s are no longer a PC exclusive territory, and console gamers as well as tablet gamers are getting to see their fare share of the genre itself.

With Paragon having been announced at the PlayStation Experience of 2015, the game has grabbed a lot of attention for its unique explosive action that has that special Epic Games touch. With MOBA’s being what they are, players can compete and win without spending money or you can throw out a little bit of cash and get the games Founder’s Pack(s) to start showing your support. As with any title, all heroes are free, and all of their cards can only be earned by playing the game. Yup, you read it first, you unlock characters by playing.
