Atari is one of the worlds most recognized video game publishers, producers, and supporters of the gaming industry. They widely saw that home consoles grew when they released their first string of home consoles under their Atari trademark name including the Atari 400 and Atari 800, respectively. It wasn’t until 1993 that we formally saw the company take a leave of absence from the industry as a hardware developer when the Jaguar home console didn’t do as well as expected.
During QuakeCon 2017, I was invited to an early access of the showroom floor. There I would get to see a glimpse of all of Bethesda’s upcoming titles that are on preview during the show. Machine Games’ upcoming follow-up to Wolfenstein: The New Order is set to hit shelves this October. The original title was seen as a massively accepted reboot for the classic franchise that kick-started the entirety of the first-person shooter genre.
There’s no doubt that id Software’s DOOM is one of the most beautiful games in recent years. It’s a game that is – artistically speaking – one of the most demanding games out there to date. It’s a game that pushes PC hardware to the limits when it comes to 4K gaming as many know. It is even a game that has become one to benchmark your 4K PC builds with if you want to know what your computer can handle.
