The Elder Scrolls Online’s latest DLC, Waking Flame, is now available for PC and MAC users with a launch date set for this September on consoles. Here’s what you need to know about today’s release.
What an exciting time it is for The Elder Scrolls fans. Those who opt to do so can jump into content such as the recently released The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood expansion or even today’s brand-new release of The Elder Scrolls Online: Waking Flame dungeon DLC.
The DLC welcomes in two brand-new dungeons for fans to enjoy, taking place shortly after the events of The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood and seeing to that adventurers continue foiling the schemes of Meghrunes Dagon as they persist.
The new DLC brings in two new four-player dungeons called “The Dread Cellar” and “Red Petal Bastion”. Both dungeons have their own story and their own unique purpose as to why they are involved with the doings of Mehrunes Dagon. Of course, that isn’t to forget that the new DLC also includes the new Update 31.
The new base-game patch will include the usual content ranging from bug fixes, performance enhancements, as well as new houses, furnishings, and plenty more for those who enjoy shopping the in-game Crown Store.
Most noteworthy of it all, the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game come with a Performance Mode as well as a Resolution Mode. Those looking to enjoy higher performance mode can do so with Performance Mode, which adds in Dynamic Resolution Scaling, allowing the graphics to balance between 1080p and 2160p on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 and 1080p and 1440p on Xbox Series S.
PlayStation 4 Pro and Xbox One X users can also enjoy an all-new HDR mode, known as “Default”, which will arrive with the Waking Flame DLC on September 8th, 2021. The current setting will be changed to “Vibrant” allowing fans to enjoy how the colors and landscape really pop.
PC players, you’re not being left out. You have a new console render multithreading setting that will come to PC this year. This mode will allow you to experience the game at even higher frame rates, giving you more bang for your buck, and allow you to enjoy all of Tamriel how you’ve been hoping to do so. This mode is currently in beta as an opt-in feature.
