Nioh 2 will have a free PS5 upgrade in February, PC version announced

If you’ve only just begun playing NIOH 2, Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo have revealed their critically-acclaimed and fan-favored Samurai-filled series is coming to PlayStation 5 in February. A PC version of NIOH 2 is set to launch on February 5th, 2021. Here’s everything you need to know.

If you’ve been waiting for a reason to jump into Nioh 2 or you’ve been consuming the series since its inception, your wait to continue your journey on next-gen platforms and PC hardware are about to happen. Recently, Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have revealed the Nioh 2: The Complete Edition is set to release on PC on February 5th, 2021 alongside the PlayStation 5 editions of both Nioh and Nioh 2.

To celebrate the launch of the PlayStation 5 version of The Nioh Collection is set to launch on February 5th, 2021, for PlayStation 5. The newly released edition will see both of the critically-acclaimed entries debut on Sony’s next-gen hardware. As part of the upcoming release, Koei Tecmo has outlined some of the all-new features that PlayStation 5 owners can expect to have including 120 FPS, 4K graphics, and an enhanced experience across the board.

Those who already own Nioh 2 can expect to upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version of the game free of charge, allowing them to carry their characters, story progression, and previously purchased content to carry over with them. This inclkudes the ability to jump into the game without a hitch. Those who do jump in on PC can also expect to experience the same ordeals including 4K at 120 FPS if their hardware meets the requirements.

PC exclusive features include 144hz capabilities, ultra-wide-screen support, and Ultra-HD support on their hardware. Those looking to experience Nioh: The Complete Edition on PlayStation 5 will need to purchase the game seperately as Koei Tecmo and Sony have not announced whether or not free upgrades will be available at launch or within the foreseeable future.
