E3 2019: Marvel’s Avengers: A-Day receives two announcement trailers

During their press conference yesterday, publisher Square Enix and Marvel Entertainment came together alongside Crystal Dynamics and Eidos-Montréal in order to officially reveal Marvel’s Avengers the teams also gave it ae May 15th, 2020 release date. Here’s everything we know.

Whether it’s Captain America, Iron Man, the Hulk, Black Widow, Thor, or any member of Marvel’s Avengers, they all strike a chord within our hearts. Each one resonates with us on different levels, whether it’s the comedic and sometimes offputting talks with Thor, or the inner struggles of Bruce Banner and his counterpart, the Hulk, we love each of them.

In Crystal Dynamics’ upcoming Marvel’s Avengers: A-Day, we’ll have a chance to once-more reconnect with superheroes that we’ve come to know and love thanks to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the comic books that inspired both game and movies. Starting on March 15th, 2020, fans can suit up, brandish their hammers, polish off their firearms, turn into the big green guy himself, and jump into action on PC, PlayStation 4, Stadia, and Xbox One.

Marvel’s Avengers: A-Day welcomes players to live their Super Hero dreams, beckoning them to enjoy the outstanding storytelling elements from Crystal Dynamics in conjunction with multiple other studios including Eidos-Montréal and gameplay features they are all renowned for previously released titles. With an ever-expanding universe, players can expect new heroes, new powers, new abilities, and an ever-growing cooperative experience expand well past their initial expectations for the game.

The upcoming title begins at A-Day, a time when the Avengers are ready to unveil their brand new hi-tech Avengers Headquarters stationed in San Francisco. There, they even reveal their own helicarrier powered by an experimental energy source unlike anything mankind had ever seen. Unfortunately, a catastrophic event leads in massive leaving parts of San Francisco in ruins. Blamed for the tragedy, Tony, Steve, Bruce, Natasha, and Thor disband the team, walking their own paths after the incident.

Five years later, Super Heroes are outlawed, leaving the world as we know it in peril, leaving only one glimmer of hope: The Earth’s mightiest heroes banding back together, fighting for the good of the world, and bringing peace where chaos reigns. Players can take on their adventure solo or group up with their friends, allowing them to greatly increase their odds of victory against formidable foes in an all-new story created for Marvel’s Avengers.

As you can see in the trailer below, that is very much so the case as some of the most renowned voice actors in the games industry has come together to create an unforgettable experience for Marvel fans that includes Troy Baker, Laura Bailey, Nolan North, and many more.

The upcoming title brings together a cinematic story packed to the brim with high-octane action that fans would expect from both a Crystal Dynamics game as well as a Marvel’s Avengers experience. The teams have revealed that there will be regular content updates including new heroes, new stories, and plenty more over multiple years post-launch.

Alongside the major reveals and announcements, Square Enix has revealed a global partnership with PlayStation, which will be outlined in more depth in the future.
