As the first online-only title in the history of the Fallout franchise, Fallout 76 is preparing to give players a chance to break the game, to find all the bugs they can and even help Bethesda stomp them out before its launch. Now polish off your power armor, wipe the dust off your goggles and prepare for the B.E.T.A. this Oct.

Today in an official announcement, Bethesda has revealed that fans will have a chance to experience Fallout 76 ahead of its launch on Nov. 14, 2018, on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. In order to prepare for the launch, Bethesda has confirmed the testing period for the game’s upcoming B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application) starting on Oct. 23rd for Xbox One and a week later, starting on Tuesday, Oct. 30th, for PC and PlayStation 4.

Fallout 76 officially releases on November 14th, but the first chance to experience the game can begin much earlier than that. We’re excited to announce that our B.E.T.A. (Break-It Early Test Application) will arrive first on Xbox One on Tuesday, October 23rd and one week later for PlayStation 4 and PC players on Tuesday, October 30th.

Bethesda has confirmed that during the B.E.T.A. period, the servers will not be available at a constant basis as the team will be working to troubleshoot bugs, stress the servers, and optimize player concurrency during this period. Because of how intensive this B.E.T.A. will be, Bethesda has released an official FAQ about Fallout 76 that is highly recommended you read before its release later next month.

As part of their announcement, Bethesda has also stated that the B.E.T.A. will run almost up until launch for players who have pre-ordered the game, “During the B.E.T.A. one of our primary goals is to stress test and break the game. As such, the servers will not be running 24/7; instead, they’ll be online during targeted timeframes so we can get as many people as possible playing at the same time. Why? Because that’s the best way to put all our systems to the test and see how they respond.

On any given day the game might be up for anywhere between four to eight hours. Focusing as many players as we can into these windows is our prime objective. Then we’ll fix what we need to fix and do it again and again from the start of B.E.T.A. until a few days before launch. We’ll give you as much heads up as possible because we need you to log in during these times and play the game. We’ll also keep you posted through our official @Fallout and @bethesdastudios handles on Twitter as well as the Bethesda.net forums and our Bethesda.net Status Page to learn when servers will be online,” the publisher states in their official FAQ for the B.E.T.A.

As we await the B.E.T.A. to begin, the publisher has stated that they will be showing off more of the game in the next few weeks ranging from multiplayer tips to wasteland survival and even character builds along with customization options along with plenty more to be discussed. In order to state up to date, we highly recommend you follow Fallout 76 and Bethesda over on their respective Twitter accounts.

Stay tuned as we will keep you up to date as more information is released.
