As the launch for Battlefield V quickly approaches, fans can now pre-load the Open Beta client for this week’s tests. Additionally, EA has confirmed the dates, times, and what the beta will entail over the course of this week and weekend.

Earlier today, EA confirmed that the Battlefield V Open Beta client is now available for pre-load for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in order to prepare fans for the tests that will be well underway later this week. DICE and EA both have reinforced the fact fans will get to experience two of the game’s maps across two different modes including the soon-to-be-iconic Rotterdam map for the Conquest mode and the Arctic Fjord map known as Narvik for both Conquest and Grand Operations.

The maps will be used to show off the intricate designs and improvements made to the franchises go to engine known as the Frost Bite Engine. In this beta, fans will take to the streets of Holland as they fight back enemy forces, causing destruction and dynamic changes to maps as the battle gets well underway. This includes broken buildings, holes in the roads, debris floating about, and even smoke on the horizon as enemy structures are burnt asunder.

For PC users, the beta will not allow for the use of Nvidia’s RTX technology in time for the Open Beta as the 20-series GPUs will not be available at that time. However, EA has confirmed that RTX will be available once the game launches and the 20 series GPUs are made available to the public.

For those looking to get into the Closed and Open Beta’s can do so starting Sept. 4, 2018, for those with pre-orders and Sept. 6, 2018, for those who have yet to pre-order the game. You can see the official schedule down below. For Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the Open Beta clocks in at roughly 12GB after being downloaded. This does not include possible patches that may be released over the course of the beta.
