Hunters, it’s almost time for you to sharpen your blades, polish your armor, and prepare your traps. Starting on December 9 at 9:00 AM PT until Tuesday December 12 at 9:00am PT, you have your chance to hunt down some of the games newest creatures, and take a wild adventure through some of the games new and dangerous lands.

However, the company has reaffirmed the statement that the Monster Hunter: World beta will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 users that have an active PlayStation Plus subscription. Additionally, they did confirm that the beta will have a 5.9 GB download, and can be accessed on December 8th as a pre-load.

Due to the fact this is a beta and a performance test, Capcom did state that the beta will be short, but will give players a taste of things to come. Players will adventure through two of the games previously announced locations including the Ancient Forest and Wildspire Waste, both featuring their own monsters and environmental dangers for players to explore.

The company has also confirmed that players will get to enjoy multiplayer hunts with up to four people as well as the ability to use fourteen different weapon types. Those who do complete the beta quests will get an unspecified and useful item when the full game launches for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 26, 2018. The PC version will launch at an undisclosed date in 2018.
